Martin MPO - Vision Zero In Person and Virtual Open House
Wednesday, April 13, 2022 4:00pm - 6:00pm

What is Vision Zero?  Vision Zero is simple in its mission: Eliminate traffic-related fatalities and serious injuries in Martin County. Achieving this goal will require a change in culture because business as usual is generating preventable injuries and deaths every year in Martin County.

Over the past five years, Martin County has welcomed 10,000 new residents and the number of annual visitors continues to climb. Over the same time, there have been over 8,000 crashes on roads in Martin County. Of these crashes, 351 resulted in death or serious injury.

The Martin Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and its partner municipalities are taking a bold stand to no longer accept these traffic fatalities and injuries as status quo. Our commitment is Vision Zero, which is a traffic safety initiative to reduce crashes and eliminate traffic-related deaths and serious injuries. Why? Because one traffic-related death is one too many.

The Martin MPO along with stakeholders have been crafting the Vision Zero Action plan and will present the Draft Action Plan at the Open House.  Public input is necessary to create the plan for Martin County and your participation is key to a successful final plan tailored to our community.  To learn more about Vision Zero, please visit www.visionzeromartin.com.  We hope to see you at the Open House either in person or virtually.

There will be two presentation starting times: 415 p.m. and 5:15 p.m.

The In-Person presentations will take place at the Martin County Administration Building Commission Chambers

2401 SE Monterey Rd., Stuart, FL 34996
